How to draw SATURDAY
California CZT Yoko Kageyama shares her sweet Saturday tangle with us today. It's her second on the site, she previously shared the lovely August with us.
Yoko introduces her tangle:
I named this tangle, "Saturday" since it is my favorite day of the week.
I've always wanted to come up with an organic tangle, that is round in shape like we would see a round flower from top. I think I came up with a simple pattern, which can also be used in borders.
Simple version is easier to draw, and wavy version appears more elegant. If we double the petal part, it gives more sophisticated look, yet it is so easy to draw.
Yoko illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Saturday below. She includes some variations and features both in her monotangle tile as a free form tangle as well as in a striking ribbon version.
